White Chicks

White chicks:
In the opening two minutes of the film ‘White Chicks’ from the very first scene the audience are able to work out that the film is going to be a comedy. This is because you see a man at the very beginning that is quite clearly in a disguise and is doing a funny little dance. It is quite evident that the man is dressed up by the way he is over compensating his ‘accent’.
The audience are able to work out that the film is going to be based around the two men who are dressed up in disguise as they are the main focus in the opening scene. The audience are also able to find out that the two main characters dressed in a disguise in the opening two minutes work for the FBI and are there to catch out the drug dealers.
The audience are encouraged to ask themselves what the main story line of this film will be as it is unclear from the beginning. They are also encouraged to question the relationship between the two main characters in the film, whether they are best friends, colleagues or if they are even in the FBI.
They have used diegetic music throughout the opening scene of this film. They have used the typical kind of music that you would normally here when visiting a corner shop and fits in well with their fake, disguised,  ethnic background. Because of the music that is used and the way the character is dancing to it at the beginning this automatically sets a happy and humorous mood.

Throughout the first opening scene they have used a lot of close up shots and extreme close ups on the characters faces so that the audience can see who the main characters are in the film and also for them to see that they are actually dressed  up and not actually who they are. Another shot that is used is a medium shot when both of the men take off their disguises and take out their FBI badges, this was a good shot to use because it shows the audience how they have gone from being funny to being serious and so that the audience could see that they have just caught out two criminals.
